Knights of Sentiara

I wanted to show the contrast between the two nationalities the images were intended to convey, Crusition and Guarden. With this you can see the different patterns and cultural styles.

Knight 1
This is a bit of conceptual work for my book “By the sword”. The main kingdom in my book is Crusition. Just under that kingdom is the mountains of Guarden. Guarden is a very savage untamed land that has bread a proud mighty people, though divided in many small kingdoms they share a symmetrical culture and heritage. Crusition officially refers to them as the southern kingdoms but many of its people refer to them unofficially as the barbarian kings.
I wanted to dive into and flesh out the cultural dress and style of the land. Guarden has elements of Celtic, Viking, Norman, Scottish and middle age culture. Some of the main elements of Guarden dress are the long half sleeved cloaks, furs (they're mountain people), large cuffs and distinct Celtic style lined patterns. I hope you can see this. I was very pleased with the patterns along the cloak and belt.

Knight 2
Another conceptual piece. The main kingdom in the story is called Crusition, a very medieval European culture similar to the fifteenth century with splashes of the Elizabethien period. I wanted to delve into some of the cultural designs, making it very traditionally medieval. I decided the main cultural designs of this kingdom focus on shaped crosses (not religious crosses with the lengthened lower point) and repetitive traditional shapes as I hope you can see on the picture. I wanted the picture to still maintain my comic book style so I took artistic license, explaining the few non-tradition elements in the armor.
Overall very happy with this picture, the armor and the embroidering.
